Dental Fillings
Restore Teeth Affected by Cavities
Dental fillings are one of the most common ways to repair teeth damaged by decay. At Princeton Dental Group, we offer both traditional and modern options to restore strength, function, and appearance.
Types of Fillings
-
Silver Amalgam Fillings: Strong and durable, ideal for back teeth that handle heavy chewing.
-
Tooth-Colored Composite Fillings: Made from ceramic or resin materials that blend naturally with your smile. Suitable for both front and back teeth depending on the size of the cavity.
Direct vs. Indirect Fillings
-
Direct Fillings: Placed in a single visit. Includes amalgam, glass ionomer, and composite resin.
-
Indirect Fillings: Require two visits. Includes inlays, onlays, or veneers made from ceramic, composite, or gold. These are recommended when damage is too extensive for a standard filling but doesn’t yet require a crown.
Personalized Care for Lasting Results
The right filling depends on factors like tooth location, amount of remaining tooth structure, and bite pressure. Our dentists will walk you through your options and recommend the best solution for your smile.
